A scar the growth of collagen beneath the skin that is formed as the result of wound healing; therefore, every cut or injury to the skin heals to form a scar.
Scar is a common worldwide problem, imposes a heavy financial burden on people suffering from it. Although even these expensive costs are not efficient enough to get completely rid of scar problem. For better information note that: More than 100 million people, suffer from different kinds of scars around the world annually. Among them 11 million cases are keloids and 4 million cases caused by burn injuries. 70% of scar victims are young children.
There are several factors leading to scar formation like:
Surgery
like various surgical sutures (Appendicitis, Thyroid surgery, C- section, Kidney and Heart surgery, Laparoscopy, Liposuction, Spinal Column surgeries and etc.) Or plastic Surgeries (mammoplasty, graft or skin transplant).
Wounds
Such as the scar formed on the location of various types of wounds (cuts, abrasion, incisions, vaccination injection site and etc.) which are mended with various methods or automatically on their own.
Burns
Such as scars resulting from various types of burns.
Acne
Raised or pitted scars formed on the location of skin’s pimples.
Infectious and internal diseases
like chicken pox and topical Leishmaniose.

Based on appearance, scars are divided into three groups: raised scar, atrophic scars and flat scars.

Scar treatments may include: Over-the-counter or prescription creams, ointments, or gels, surgical treatment and injections.
